Art Studio by Appointment – Recent Work & EOFY

The Wavering Line 2020, diptych180 x 480 cm
Dear Art Lovers,

So many things have happened and changed in the world around us of late – from Bushfires to COVID19. Like a tortoise I went deeper into my shell, laid low in the studio and only now felt the urge to pop my head back out with a newsletter in hand.

Unprecedented challenges and opportunities have been presented as the ripple effect has reached and touched us all. Like many others here in Crossover I felt the overwhelming urge to walk through lush bush tracks and take photographs of fungus xxx

Floral Eclipse 2020, 185 x 250 cm

In the studio I’ve continued to experiment with the silhouette and placing ceramics alongside paintings to ignite a three dimensional sense of the rolling abstracted landscape that goes for miles ‘deep within’.

It is truly heartwarming to know that galleries are beginning to reopen their spaces and welcome us back!

If you were unable to experience ‘Two Strong Sisters Connected’ prior to shutdown, you’ll be pleased to know that Bunjilaka – Melbourne Museum, will reopen on the 27th of June.  A soulful exhibition of works by my dear friend and colleague, Dr Aunty Eileen Harrison and her good friend, Aunty Rochelle Patten.

Another good friend and colleague with a studio just down the road has also popped his flags out again.  Artist Gary Miles is open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Anne McGravie Wright has been busy behind the scenes with Art Consultancy and Contemporary Art Experiences at AVEC PLEASURE.

Mingara Gallery at Phillip Island currently has a few of my smaller pieces available – please phone to make an appointment – 5952 3722 or 0457 343 771

A Place to Stop and Smell the Flowers 2019 – currently available at Mingara Gallery

And I’m delighted to inform you that my own studios (paintings & ceramics) are once again
‘Open by Appointment’ and respecting all current restrictions.
